Scales of War

I've been catching up on some old items and I finally got around to reading the series of Dungeon magazines that included the "Scales of War" adventure path.

What stood out to me was how much it shook up the status quo of the planar lore. This included things like:
Gith escaping from Baator and possibly reuniting the githyanki and githzerai
The pact between the githyanki and the red dragons being dissolved
A revolution in the City of Brass
and the death of Tiamat!

This surprised me as it shook up the status quo more than anything I can think of short of the "Faction War"
And while I know that everyone's campaign is different; my question is "How much of the 'Scales of War' was embraced as standard/default canon?" I haven't come across much of these changes before; but I may have missed things

I'm not too familiar with the events from "Scales of War" as I haven't read much 4E material.

The death of Vlaakith in the "The Lich-Queen's Beloved" seems to be canon and I suppose that's also true for "Scales of War".

I always considered the material from the old Rrakma-project to be canon for may campaign (not sure if material from "Scales of War" was included in it, though).

Scales of War encapsulates 4e

Scales of War encapsulates 4e, for better or for worse. You start off battling hobgoblins in the Nentir Vale, and thirty levels later you're fighting Tiamat. Directly, in person. Not an avatar, not with an army. Just the party and her. All five of her.

Scales takes a long time to get off the prime and is sluggish in parts, but there are a lot of great material to scavenge for your home game. I don't know that Tiamat is established as a terribly compelling villain throughout the adventure path, but what I will say is that the denouement is pretty great: the party now lives in a world without greed. They have not only slain a goddess, but fundamentally changed the nature of mortals. There is still evil in the world, but none of it is born out of greed. The idea of such a fundamental, primal sin being stamped out is suggested as a starting point for the next campaign. I would dearly love to hear about someone who's gotten to that point, and played a campaign in the world without greed.

I haven't yet myself. Like a lot of big shakeups in planar games, it's the kind of thing I'm loath to leave in the background, where the party can't be a part of it. If it's going to happen, I want them to be there for it. That's part of the payoff for me.

The new regime in the City of

The new regime in the City of Brass is mentioned as a possibility in The Plane Below, but other than that I don't think any of the changes from the Scales of War path made their way into any other sources. As of fifth edition, Tiamat is still alive and the githyanki are still ruled by a lich-queen.
