*New* Interactive Sigil Map

Hello!

You know, that PDF Map of Sigil and the Sigil Venues spreadsheet together make up a nice interactive map.

I made it for my friend's current adventure, but I assume it might be useful elsewhere, as long as previous one seems dead now.

Any feedback/corrections/additions are welcome.

Useful! Are the stars

Useful! Are the stars supposed to be like Yelp ratings?

Sigil's Prison 46 reviews
**** The quality of our room was more than satisfactory.
***** 5/5 prison. Would murder again.
*** Some okay gangs, prison hooch is so-so.
** Highly overrated. I've had more severe prison beatings in Waterdeep.
* Too many Mercykillers.

Ah! That Yelp-like stars

Ah! That Yelp-like stars would be so-o fun, but no. This is the same rating as in original Sigil Venues spreadsheet: «a subjective evaluation of how completely the venue is described in the source material».

Quote:
A single star indicates that the source material contains little to no information beyond what is included in the list.

Two stars indicate that the source material contains a few additional background details beyond what is included in the list.

Three stars indicate that there is significant background information available in the source material concerning the venue, possibly including some significant background information.

Four stars indicate that the venue is described in great detail with most of the pertinent information a DM might like to know, usually including a map.

Five stars reserved for fully fleshed-out venues, usually including maps, key NPC stats, extensive background information and possibly even artwork.

Hey, it's just a fancy UI to existing data! ;)

By the way, I put in remaining UnderSigil venues, but few of their coordinates are wild guess.

Mirror?

Amazing! This is so perfect. I can't help but wonder if there's any way to make a mirror of it, just in case your hosting goes down or something. I don't want this to ever go away! :)

Ditto Oldbie's sentiment about backing up and mirroring your site!

Mirror? Not right now

Oldbie, Quickleaf, I still update the map data (I want to fill in short venue descriptions where availiable, and maybe add a locale or two, so work is still in progress though progress is slow). And I definitely don't want to bother with properly built, rsynced mirror with keys and other stuff.

Perhaps later, when it will be more or less stable, I'd share a copy.

My hosting had noticeable outages only a few times in eight years, and if it goes offine again, Cloudflare is to step in :)

Awesome. Good to know we can rely on it. Thanks for the work. Another tab I'll have open during my weekly D&D sessions. :)

The Map of Sigil: Community Edition ;)

Hey, it's that time of the year again when I can spare more time for my hobbies.
So... Oldbie, Quickleaf, if you still want a backup copy of the map, you can get in on GitHub.

I removed all the site-specific code from this public release, including favicons and OGP metadata, so be ready to add your own tweaks.

Source code is also availiable — with a single exception.
The map is rendered by Mapplic, a commercial plugin from CodeCanyon.
License says I can release the compiled map as "end product", but I can't redistribute the source code of the plugin. To build your own map from scratch you'll need your own copy of Mapplic.

A-and the finishing touch: the map translation project is now on Crowdin.
So if you'd like to see the map UI or even the map data in your language, you are welcome to join.

(Drop me a note, if your language is not in the list yet.)
