Personality: The story of the howlers is a tragic one indeed. It is a story of pain and sorrow, death and degradation, and ultimately, faith betrayed.Millennia ago, on the world of Toril, war raged between the drow and the dwarves. Atrocities were common on both sides, but the worst by far were those inflicted by the drow. As far as most dwarves are concerned, the fate of the Red Hammers clan was just another of those massacres, but the truth is far worse.
Personality: Shards are the manifestation of chaotic creativity, given form by the goddess Selune. They serve her within her realm on Ysgard but also wander the Infinite Staircase, protecting the goddess’ interests. A shard is very emotional and quick to anger at any slight, whether real or imagined. While concrete facts do little to stir a shard's blood, subjective topics like art or music ignite a passionate fire within a shard -- she'll come to blows to defend her opinion.By: Christopher Campbell
Personality: Cranium rats are verminous creatures not uncommon in Sigil and pestilent cities of the Lower Planes. Cranium rats are distinguishable from their normal cousins by the pulsating brains that protrude from the tops of their skulls. They are many creatures and one all at once, for they possess a type of group mind. This is a modification of the Monster: Cranium Rats entry by James O'Rance.
Personality: These Dwarves are not so much a sub-race as a sub-culture. While most Ddarves known to Sigillians follow the traditional culture of the Children of Moradin, these darves follow a new path, one thought heretical by some, enlightened by others, and mystifying my most.
Personality: It happens for a thousand reasons, and for no reason. It is an event so bizzare, so abnormal, so... chaotic, that even the residents of Limbo take notice- A Slaad goes Rogue. The dark of this is not well understood. It appears to happen when a remnant of the poor sod infected with a Slaad egg survives, giving the newborn Frog a tiny bit of order, a strange ability to understand the need for some sense of Order by so many other beings.
Personality: The Felona are a race of lazy, Hedonistic cat like humanoids that live in the chaotic aligned upper plains and limbo. Generous and gentle, it is hard too believe that these creatures once held a place among the demons of the abyss. An age ago, in the abyss was a particular layer. This layer consisted of a lush, peaceful jungle. Many folks wouldn’t even believe that they were on the abyss until they met the denizens: grossly fat monsters that devoured anything in their path. These creatures were the ancestors of the Felona, demons of sloth and gluttony.
Personality: The bariaurs – herbivorous denizens of the Outlands and the chaotic Upper Planes – often remind primes of centaurs, with their goat-bodies being topped by human torsos and arms. In personality, bariaurs are usually carefree, social, outgoing, and friendly. Though considered frivolous by some, the sturdy bariaurs nevertheless are fierce fighters when their families or friends are threatened. They are well known for their wanderlust, building no towns but roaming over several of the Upper Planes in a seemingly random path.
Personality: The Modron race is one defined by its adherence to law and order. It is hard to believe that the forces of chaos could ever infiltrate the great machine of Mechanus and throw the proverbial monkey wrench in the works. But it does occasionally happen and when it does the result can be a Rogues Modron. These beings are outcasts in Modron society. They have been tainted with Chaos and therefore have know place in the beutiful order of Mechanus. They are driven out of their homes to wander the Planes.
Personality: Half-kytons are born of a human or elven woman who survived being raped by a kyton (a lawful-evil, chain-wielding devil described on pages 48 and 51 of the Monster Manual). A kyton cares nothing for his offspring, so a half-kyton child is usually raised according to the customs of his/her mother’s people.Half-kytons are raised to hate full-blooded kytons, but like their kyton fathers, they innately love anything relating to chains. They tend to prefer weapons made from chains (such as chain whips or nunchucks) to more conventional weapons such as swords.
