Yeah, this is really nice. I'm just curious why there aren't any evil Gods? Surely the Hindu pantheon has at least one, it's a religion with countless lesser Deities among the ones you named. Why not make a few up?
Well, the thing about the Hindu religion is that there's gods and then there's gods. These people are sort of like eskimos and snow. For example, they have a special category for a divine being that means basically "consort of a god"; of course, rather than go into complicated explanations, the westerners said "That's goddess, right? Or close enough."
Similarly, the evil gods are mostly described as demons and suchlike. The gods gods are good guys.
Well, mostly. There's always that kinda evil aspect of Parvati called Kali. And her husband Shiva isn't the nicest god out there, being all about the destruction of everything and suchlike. But I wouldn't really call them evil in the D&D sense of the word.
Read more about these two in the Chronicles.
This is great! The only thing I really disagree with is that I think Krishna should remain an Avatar, not become a separate god. Well, I'll also say that Indra has lost no less worship than Agni, so I disagree with Agni being dead. But well done. I'm fond of this pantheon.
I'd like to see more of the Hindu gods written up.
Nice work, Nemui. That's my favorite pantheon. Now if you were to place the entire Hindu pantheon on a new separate plane, what would it be called? Not Mount Meru or Svarga by any chance?
This is great, I've not seen a good rundown on the Hindu pantheon anywhere, but what I'd like to see is more.
